Polarization-State Modulation in Fano Resonant Graphene Metasurface Reflector

Although Polarization Modulation offers a high spectral efficiency, it has been not exploited much in modern communication systems because of the involvement switching speeds and complexity associated hardware. We propose dynamically controllable graphene metasurface capable to switch polarization state incident THz waves real-time. The is designed by patterning two-dimensional sheets with Fano-resonant chiral unit cells. Since reflectance spectrum characterized co cross polarized fields that bear asymmetric Fano line-shapes, several combinations linear elliptical states are observed narrowband spectrum. At fixed frequency, electrostatic tunability property allows between different varying chemical potential 500 700 meV. modulation proposed based applied implement quaternary modulated digital system. Full-wave simulation results show strong possibility systems. Graphene metasurfaces on account electron mobility discrete Fermi levels offer seamless integration
